After breakfast, drive to Coonoor.

Commence a full day's drive to Kochi (Formally Cochin). Visit the oldest quarter of town, Fort Cochin, the Raja's palace with its elaborate murals, the Jewish Synagogue and St. Francis Church.

Day 8 -- » In Kochi
Enjoy a cruise of this fine natural harbor with its famous hanging Chinese fishing nets and local fishing hamlets. Evening performance of kerala's legendary kathakali dancer.

Day 9 -- » Kochi - Thekkaday
Drive through a landscape of rubber and tea plantations to the periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, a region of jungle, forest and grassland. Afternoon boat tripe will search for elephant, guar, deer and wide range birds.

Day 10 -- » Thekkady - Mumbai
This morning drive takes you down to the plains studded with granite outcrops to temple city of Madurai.

Day 11 -- » In Madurai
The morning tour includes a visit to the Indo-Saracenic Thirumalai Nayakar palace and the late evening, revisit the temple to watch the nightly Hindu Pooja ceremony.

Day 12 -- » Madurai - Chennai
