Itinerary

Destination : Chandigarh – Shimla – Spiti Valley – Ladakh Himalayan Jeep Safari Tour

Day 01: Delhi/Chandigarh/Shimla

Today morning drive to Shimla. Arrive Shimla in the evening and check into the hotel.

Day 02: Shimla

Full day local sight seeing of Shimla. Overnight at hotel. 

Day 03: Shimla/Sarahan/Sangla  (8900 Feet, 150 Kms)
Today after breakfast drive to Sarahan and visit the famous temple of Bhimakali in which human sacrifices were made about two centuries ago. After visiting the temple continue drive to Sangla (5-6 hrs) and on arrival check in to Hotel. Overnight at hotel. 

Day 04: Sangla/Chitkul/Sangla

Today morning after breakfast visit Chitkul. Return to hotel for Lunch. After lunch walk through Kamru and Sangla villages and visit the beautifully carved old temples and Buddhist monasteries. The valley is also known as the Baspa Sangla valley, after river Baspa which flows through the valley and it is the part of Kinnaur valley. Overnight at hotel.

Day 05: Sangla/Kalpa (9710 Feet, 40 Kms)

After breakfast drive to Kalpa village (2-3 hrs.). Enroute stop at Recongpeo. Recongpeo is the district headquarters of Kinnaur district. Continue drive to Kalpa (7 kms) and check into the hotel. After some rest you may wish to take a walk to Kalpa village and the nearby Roghi village. These villages are covered with thick pine forests and are famous for apricots and apples. The beautiful view of the Mt. Kinner Kailash (6000 Metres) is from here. Overnight.

Day 06: Kalpa/Tabo (10,760 Feet, 165 Kms)

Today after breakfast drive to Tabo (8-9 hrs). Today we will be entering the beautiful Spiti valley which is also known as the cold desert of the Himalayas (as this area is cut from rest of the world due to heavy snow in the winters). En route visiting Nako Lake and village with a famous monastery. Arrive Tabo in the evening and check into the hotel. If time permits on the way you will also visit the naturally preserved mummy of a Buddhist monk at Gue village. Overnight.

Day 07: Tabo/Kaza (12, 500 Feet, 50 Kms)

Today after breakfast visit Tabo monastery, which is oldest monastery in the whole Himalayas. Later continue drive to Kaza en route visiting Dhankar village, monastery and fort. Arrive Kaza in the evening and check into the hotel.

Day 08: Kaza (12, 500 Feet)

Today after breakfast drive to the village of Lagnza. Visit the monastery at the top of the village and on the way look out for fossils. Here you can also see the yak working in the fields or yak grazing in the pastures. Also visit Hikkim and Comic village – the world’s highest village on road. Later on return to the main road and continue for a tour of Kee Monastery and the village of Kibber. Kibber (at 4,200 metres) was considered the world’s highest village. Return to Kaza in the evening.

Day 09: Kaza/Keylong (10, 100 Feet, 190 Kms)

Today after breakfast drive to Keylong via Kunzum Pass (4558 m/14,950ft) which provides beautiful views of Himalayan Glaciers. On the way visit the temple on the pass, Chandar  Lake and several villages of Spiti and Lahaul valley. Arrive Keylong in the evening and check into the hotel.

Day 10: Keylong – Sarchu (14,070 Feet, 110 Kms) – Leh (11,562 feet)

Today morning after breakfast drive to Sarchu via Baralacha Pass (4800 m). Arrive Leh and check into the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 11: Leh

Full day local sight seeing of Leh. Overnight at hotel.

Day 12 : Leh/Khandung La (5,359 m (17,582 ft)

Today morning visit Khandung La (Highest mountain pass in Ladakgh). Return to the hotel Afternoon local sightseeing. Dinner & overnight at the hotel.

Day 13 : Leh/Delhi (Flight)  Departure

Today morning transferred to the airport to connect flight for Delhi.
